Live  excerpt

Guitarist Gilad Hekselman quickly earned the confidence of some of the greatest from Chris Potter to Mark Turner via Gretchen Parlato or Jeff «Tain» Watts. Fascinating ease and talent, he is clearly one of the most promising guitarists from New York.

Gilad HEKSELMAN - Guitar, Mark TURNER - Tenor Sax,
Joe MARTIN – Bass, Marcus GILMORE – Drums

Since arriving in New York five years ago, Mr. Hekselman has set himself roughly up in the line of Pat Metheny and Kurt Rosenwinkel, with a warm and clean guitar tone, clear articulation, crazily extended improvisational ideas, speed when he needs it, an advanced understanding of harmony, and the flexibility to go wherever his bands want...»

Ben Ratliff, NEW YORK TIMES

HEARTS WIDE OPEN - From Le Chant du Monde

“A beautiful album from Gilad Hekselman, one of the best guitarists of a new generation of talented musicians”
Jazz Magazine

Gilad’s third album is a masterful exploration of the contrast and coexistence of simplicity and depth, expressed through music.

Comprised of simple, singable melodies, these ten new pieces, even with their complex rhythms and harmonies, breathe a certain air of familiarity.

Crossing borders and mixing genres, the result is a totally original sound, brilliantly played with precision and great feel by one of the finest groups of jazz artists on the New York jazz scene today.

THE REVIVALIST, September 13, 2011  Hearts Wide Open is a blueprint for musical efficiency. This album is driven by the delivery of Hekselman. His sound is positively refreshing. He plays with the sharpness of an aged veteran and carries the optimistic spirit of a young soul..

DREAM The New Jazz Album by Line Kruse

LINE KRUSE

Danish violinist and composer, Line Kruse lives in Paris, France, but she’s got the whole world for her playground. Singled out for outstanding performances world-wide with the ground-breaking electronica Tango group Gotan Project, Line has also forged an exceptional path all her own.

DREAM is Line Kruse’s second album. of original works. The music, performed with heart, vitality and virtuosity, focuses more on content than on genre. Evolving within a modern jazz setting, and with just the right dose of electronica, DREAM is a refreshing new sound in jazz, bursting with creative energy.

Many things draw our attention to Line, but none so remarkable as to see her perform live on stage, that is when one realizes the shocking magnitude of her musical talent."

Patrick Dréhan, Director Festival de la Côte d'Opale, France

Penguin Parade / Dream / My House / Line’s Lines / Versailles / Milonga Surprise / Warm Waves (Dance of the Cephalopods) / Mozart’s Moment / Piensa en Mi.

After graduating from the Royal Danish Conservatory in Copenhagen, Line Kruse head out for the City of Lights. With a taste for the unusual and a childhood penchant for Jazz, she quickly integrated the Paris Latino community.

That’s when Line hooked up with top avant-gard Cuban and Argentinean musicians with whom she developed her distinct sound and continues working today. Those experiences opened doors to the vast, multi-cultural Parisian scene.

Line inevitably caught the eye of today’s million-selling Gotan Project. She’s been sharing the international lime-light with this recording phenomenon for the past eight years. Gotan’s mix of Tango and electronic beats first became a huge hit attracting the attention of the most in vogue DJs at the time and later, through the group’s stupefying performances around the world. By the way, Line’s stunning arrangement of Piensa en mi on the album Dream, features the voice of Gotan’s Veronika Silva, in duo with Cuban singer Joel Hierrezuelo.

Kicca & Intrigo, Boogaloo & Pop Rock

Intrigo

Kicca and Oscar's natural curiousity and insatiable drive to produce led to the formation of the trio Intrigo in 2003 with Italian drummer Paolo Mappa. Bursting with jazz passion, boogaloo and the energy of 60's soul, their first self-producted album Bollente released in 2004, was followed by performances throughout Italy, France and Belgium.

Kicca Andriollo (vocals and compositions), and Oscar Marchioni (Hammond organ) have since made their home in Paris and where the influence of so many cultures has brought them new opportunities to explore other musical traditions and new languages. That is why Intrigo is today made up of a variety of top names in the business from guitarists like Hervé Sambe and percussionists and drummers like the flamboyant Edmundo Carniero to great jazz artists like Blue Lou Marini, Francesco Bearzatti, Salah Khaili and many others.

In June 2009 Intrigo  released its second album under the label ADN Music distributed by Universal Music France. This album captures the originality, spontaneity and exhuberance of Intrigo, with its gorgeous melodic curves, devilish groove...
