Gilmore, born in 1986, is the grandson of Roy Haynes, himself a jazz
drummer. Roy gave him his
first drums at the age
of 10. A graduate of LaGuardia
High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, he also received several distinctions such as Wynton Kelly Foundation Award and the Wyoming Seminary
PAI Best Instrumentalist Award.
We have seen him in recent years, alongside with Vijay Iyer, Steve Coleman,
Gonzalo Rubalcaba, or Nicholas Payton.
